The NESTT
Nature-focused pre-K and family support for Southwest Philadelphia
Led by Woodland Academy and Greater Philadelphia Health Action, The NESTT will make Bartram’s Garden the classroom for Southwest’s littlest learners.

The NESTT, a nature-focused center for early learning and family support, will be located just south of Bartram’s Garden. Students and teachers at The NESTT will use the Garden as their wider classroom, with families and caregivers also benefiting from comprehensive education, support, and coaching.
The project is led by Woodland Academy, a STAR 4-certified early childhood education center and afterschool program located nearby in Southwest Philadelphia. Woodland Academy was founded as a non-profit in 1990 by its parent organization Greater Philadelphia Health Action (GPHA), in recognition of the fact that quality early childhood education and family support are crucial determinants of long-term health and well-being for both children and families alike. Regionally, GPHA provides comprehensive medical, dental, behavioral health, pharmacy, and child development services for over 86,000 patients with 16 locations throughout the city of Philadelphia.
